The Redneck Riviera Brewing Project
Goat Lips Own, In-House Brewery
The Redneck Riviera Brewing Project grew out of a love for handcrafted beers, the creative process of brewing those beers, and the joy of sharing (and drinking!) those beers with friends. The brewing project was founded by Tim Roberts and Tim Moore following a life-changing trip to Sierra Nevada’s annual Beer Camp.
Upon their return, Goat Lips hosted a release party for the beer they created while at Sierra Nevada, “Raiders of the Last Hops” — the turn out for this event was so great that it inspired the Tims to bring their brewing to another level, eventually collaborating as Goat Lips in-house nanobrewery.
A lot of lessons were learned along the way, and we are now moving full-steam ahead, brewing beers we love to drink and share with everyone who walks through the doors at Goat Lips!
See below for all of our great “brewed in-house” offerings, or check out our full beer menu on Untappd!
Raiders of the Last Hops
Red IPA — 7.6% ABV
This malty, bitter, floral brew is not for the faint of heart! Hints of caramel, toasted nuts, and biscuity malt are in perfect balance with the fresh, crisp, hoppy finish. Find out why this brew is as sought after as the Golden Fleece! (hint: it’s all in the brew’s complex malt bill and outrageous late-addition hop schedule).
Sweet Potato Ale
Spiced Amber — 6.8% ABV
We love sweet potato casseroles, sweet potato fries… but why isn’t there a sweet potato beer? Naturally, we had to intervene. We start with a rich, malty amber ale and then add 42 pounds of sweet potatoes, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and allspice. It’s about as close as you can get to having sweet potato pie in a glass!
Blue Collar Ale
Session Pale Ale — 4.5% ABV
The Blue Collar Ale, a true Goat Lips Classic, is a quintessential, American-style ale. To this day, The Blue Collar Ale continues to be faithfully brewed as a golden ale, utilizing light-stable cascade hops from the Pacific Northwest and a select combination of malted barley.
Shovel Bum
Cream Ale / Blonde — 5.5% ABV
The Shovelbum Ale is our twist on a traditional cream ale. This beer was handcrafted with hot Florida summers in mind and in honor of the numerous Archaeologists (Shovel Bums) that hang out at Goat Lips- it’s as light, crisp, and sessionable as an lager, but bursting with citrusy American hop flavor. It’s a favorite of craft beer newbies and connoisseurs alike.
Argo Amber
Amber Ale — 6.0% ABV
The Argo Amber is a solid-body amber ale and a campus favorite. Go Argos!
Big Easy Coffee Stout
Stout — 6.5% ABV
The Crescent City has brought us some great things: Zydeco, beignets, and Cajun food to name a few- so we wanted to pay tribute with a beer as smooth and exotic as the Big Easy itself. We’ve loaded it with coffee and chicory straight from New Orleans, and added cold-steeped chocolate malt and roasted barley to give it its pitch black color. It’s a tip of our hat to the Mardi Gras City. Beignets not included.
Blackwater Brown
English Brown — 6% ABV
Grab a growler and go tubing! This traditional, English brown is almost the color of our tannin-rich rivers and has hints of toffee or butterscotch at the finish line.
Jalapeno Cream Ale
Cream Ale / Blonde — 5.5% ABV
Muy Caliente! All the taste of a fresh jalapeno washed down with a cream ale.
The Billy Goat
Black IPA — 5.6% ABV
Our only dry-hopped beer and our head-brewer’s favorite. This black IPA began as a project in Michigan and was transplanted and further refined here on the Gulf Coast. And now we get to drink it!
The Ten-Point
Double IPA — 10% ABV
The 10-Point is brewed with Amarillo hops, providing a kick to this almost-golden Double IPA.
Sea Oat Pale Ale
English Brown — 6% ABV — 60 IBU
Bright, lively, memorable and satisfying. The Sea Oat Pale Ale is reminiscent of days spent along our scenic stretch of sand. Golden in color, light in body and finished with loads of citrus and tropical hops. The Sea Oat Pale Ale is a pale ale for every day.
